Create a glowing sunflower HK Tangler style.
Summary: In this 3 plus hour workshop ( tile prep on video, and 3 hour second video)
Materials that I will be using: A five inch square of hot press watercolor paper, Watercolors, Copic Alcohol Shading Grays, Black and Sepia Sakura Glaze pens, a yellow ochre Staedtler Triplus, a brown Sakura Identipen, and a gray Copic Multiliner or Sakura Micron will be needed in addition to the usual suspects of white chalk and white gel pen. However, you may also come as you are and use simply watercolors and whatever color fineliners you want! I want to make this class accessible! See Supply list for details!!
There are no prerequisites for this workshop, Please note that we did not finish this tile in class. That said, there is a lot of repetition to the steps in the shading and I covered all the steps live that you can finish on your own and work along with the video.
In this intermediate to advanced, live workshop you will learn how to:
- Lay down a lovely sunflower as a base color in watercolors
- Tangle the petals and center tone on tone “HK Tangler Style”
- Shade with Copic Alcohol Markers to achieve super depth
- Highlight with white chalk and Gel Pen to give your tile height and glow.
